Should Celebrities Be Our Role Models?
Saturday, 29 April 2006
Celebs........we love them. They're beautiful, handsome. They sing. They act. They're larger than life. We admire their ability to drink alcohol, take illegal drugs and still manage to make fortunes. They're our royalty.

It's shocking how quickly we forgive them! We jump to pay for their next movie, their next concert, their next DVD. We double, triple their fortunes, in spite of their chosen lifestyles and negative influence on our youth.

What message do drugged celebs send us, our children? Aren't we condoning their actions? Do we want our children to live, behave like them? What about us? Do we want to be like them?

Is hard partying a plus? What about those, who party hearty, who've died..........? How about our children who die trying to be like them?

Follwing is a short list of celebrities, recently involved with serious substance abuses. Some were recently arrested. Some voluntarily entered rehab.

  • Nick Nolte
  • George Michael
  • Boy George
  • Whitney Houston
  • Kate Moss
  • Colin Farrell
  • Lindsay Lohan
  • Tom Sizemore
  • Scott Stapp, Former Creed lead singer
  • Pete Doherty
  • Robert Downey, Jr.
  • Naomi Cambell
  • Leif GarrettThe list and the beat goes on...............
